Welcome To The Renfrewshire Astronomical Society

The Renfrewshire Astronomical Society is based at the Coats Observatory in Paisley, and meets every Friday at 7:30pm.

 The Society is a meeting place for anyone interested in all aspects of astronomy including;
  • Visual Observing (naked eye, binoculars, telescopes)                                                          
  • Digital and Film based imaging of

               > Galaxies
  • Spectroscopy
  • Digital image processing
  • Telescope and accessory making, optics, electronics, mechanics, etc.
  • Astrophysics and cosmology

In addition to the above, the Society hosts a series of talks by eminent researchers in their chosen fields. The talks are open to the public and are aimed at a level that beginners and experts can appreciate.
